Forbidden Hibiscus (Egypt)

2 oz. (25 cups) or 8 oz. (100 cups)

Naturally caffeine-free, Forbidden Hibiscus is made of organically grown, dried hibiscus flower petals grown along the Nile River in southern Egypt. It has a sweet aroma and seductively tart taste of cranberries. Hibiscus tea has been consumed in Egypt for thousands of years, though in ancient Egypt, hibiscus flowers were associated with passion, desire and lust. Egyptians believed tea made with red hibiscus petals could "induce licentious cravings in women." As a result, Egyptian women were forbidden to drink hibiscus tea for many centuries. Hence the name. But those days are long past, and everyone can enjoy this delicious drink — hot or cold!

*As with any herbal or flower tea, always check with your doctor prior to use if you are pregnant or nursing.

Beautiful All Around!

This was my intro to loose leaf tea. It’s absolutely beautiful in aroma, color, and full of flavor. Just one teaspoon to one cup water and I was blown away by the full cranberry flavor and tart finish that leaves you smiling! It makes all other teas I have been drinking seem like just water.
