2 oz. (25 cups) or 8 oz. (100 cups)

Kanchenjunga Oolong is a spicy, full-bodied oolong tea with smooth tannins and a truly mesmerizing aroma reminiscent of fruity pipe tobacco. It is grown organically at an altitude of over 5,000 feet.

It comes from a small family farm in the Himalayan foothills of eastern Nepal not far from the base of Kanchenjunga (or Kangchenjunga) Mountain—the third highest peak in the world. The estate empowers its farmers economically by providing them with higher revenues, free housing, free education to their children and cows for additional income.

About Our Nepalese Tea

Grown in the Himalayan foothills, Nepalese tea is extraordinary. However, years of industry underdevelopment, coupled with a decade-long civil war, served to stunt Nepal's economy. Development of tea farming in the country suffered as a result. Since the signing of a peace accord in 2006, Nepal's tea growers have sought to share their product with more and more drinkers around the world.

Our Nepalese tea comes from small farms in Ilam and Panchthar, a region just 45 miles west of Darjeeling, at an altitude of between 5,000 and 6,000 feet. The region is semi-tropical and very sunny, but has abundant rainfall.

Absolutely loving this tea

Just received my order today and out of the two teas I've ordered this one is an instant favorite for me. The dry leaf smell is a bit tobacco like and the wet leaf smell is much more like sweet baking spices. That sweet baking spices fragrance translates real well into the flavor as well. I brewed this gong Fu style, 6 grams in a 120ml pot. After a quick rinse my first steep was 20 seconds and was absolutely delicious. The tea stayed that way for 6 steeps, adding a few seconds on with each steep. I probably could have gotten at least one more. I plan on next brewing this western style as recommended on the label and see how I like that. I highly highly recommend this tea.
